Does the lemon law apply to a used car that you buy off of a private owner?

No. It's the buyers responsibility to check out the car. As soon as you hand over the cash and drive away it's your car with no come backs. It can break down after 20 feet and it's your problem. The seller can just turn around and walk away and there's not a thing you can do.
